A master and his neighbor bet on the honesty of the master's shepherd. When the neighbor fails to convince the shepherd to sell him a ram without the master's approval, then the neighbor's daughter gets involved to aid her father. The shepherd and the girl fall in love, which makes her task harder. The shepherd is facing a choice regarding his honesty, but eventually everyone involved must face the consequences of their choices.
