Narrative Features/Native American
With steady and graceful performances by Richard Ray Whitman as Frankie and Casey Camp-Horinek as Irene, this story takes viewers for a ride accompanying Frankie’s last journey. Harjo charms us with his love of Oklahoma, that once was the Land of the Red People, as described by the old Choctaw phrase Okla Humma. Barking Water is a delicate love tale about dedication, sharing and true companionship.
Dysfunction/International/Narrative Features
“Best Screenplay” winner of the Hamptons International Film Festival and a new darling of the art cinema circuit, Boogie is the second feature of Radu Muntean, one strong name of the now famous Romanian New Wave. On his spring break at the seaside, with his wife and his four-year old son, Bogdan (nicknamed Boogie) runs into his best friends from high school. Frustrated that between his job and his family time is no longer his to manage, Boogie manages to have a fight with his spouse and spends a night to tick off all the items on the map of his youth - drinking, games, flirting, prostitutes. In the morning, after the disillusionment of the remake he experiences with his former friends, he returns home. This is the film’s last festival run before airing on Independent Film Channel.
